QA process / peer review

GPF operates on a foundation of commitment to quality, which we perceive as integral with cost effective client service. GPF has a quality assurance system in place as part of our commitment to the quality of our work for our clients and the overall management of the company.

The GPF team is committed to providing a high quality of work. Internal quality assurance procedures, such as the peer review system, are implemented on every project to ensure that the end product is of the highest standard. All reports and all other work is reviewed by another Director or senior staff person prior to leaving the office. The review is recorded in a Quality Assurance table at the front of every report prior to the report leaving the office.

All members of the GPF project team have an excellent reputation for delivering work of a consistently high standard, as shown in the client references which have been given to GPF. We are a client driven company, and following the setting of deadlines, will require our team members to work whatever hours are necessary to meet project deadlines. Strong project management by the Project Manager ensures that all project team members work together as a team and achieve deadlines and the necessary high quality standards.

Technology we use

GPF is committed to providing an efficient and accurate service. We utilise field equipment that is the latest technology to assist in providing that service.

Our primary survey instrument is a centimetre accurate Trimble GPS. This equipment has many advantages over traditional survey equipment and techniques by being able to provide real-time answers to centimetre accuracy over long distances.

Our secondary survey instrument is a Trimble reflectorless, robotic theodolite meaning that measurements can be observed to almost any surface and a dedicated survey target is not always required. The instrument can also be set on robotic mode where one person can set it up and then walk around with a prism taking measurements - the theodolite will track the person automatically.

Observations from both instruments can be logged electronically and downloaded directly to survey computational software for reduction and plan generation.

Our technicians check survey equipment instruments on an almost daily basis. Field surveys require the measurement of previously observed lines and the resulting measurements compared. Calibration certificates confirming that the instruments meet the required minimum standards are provided on a regular basis.

Communication equipment

Field parties consisting of more than one staff member are equipped with portable radios for communication in the field and mobile phones are carried to provide communication with the office.
